2021 Volkswagen Tiguan vs 2021 Volkswagen Atlas

Serving Troy, MI

The current line of crossover SUVs at Suburban Volkswagen of Troy offers something for most drivers. The Tiguan has been a preferred model since 2017, and this compact crossover is now in its second generation. The Atlas joined the Volkswagen line-up in 2018. This midsize crossover offers a spacious cabin and exciting functionality. Which of these popular crossover models would be a perfect match for your preferences and lifestyle?

Performance

If you opt to drive a 2021 Tiguan home, your crossover will benefit from a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine that delivers 184 horsepower. The 2021 Atlas has two powertrain possibilities. The base-level engine is a 2.0-liter, 235-horsepower engine. The top powertrain is a 276-horsepower, 3.6-liter V6 engine. The powertrains for both of these Volkswagen models are available with 4MOTION all-wheel drive, an automatic transmission, and a few driving modes.

Appearance

While both of these Volkswagen crossovers can accommodate passengers across three rows, the Tiguan is a smaller model. Its design has the linear, geometric elements that the brand is known for. For example, horizontal bars running through the grille and the personality lines that flow through the door panels have a similar trend. The Atlas also has horizontal elements through the grille and sides. However, the side accents roll over the wheel fenders for individuality, and the front and rear bumpers also carry their own personality. Both of these Volkswagen models have a geometric shape through the exhaust tips and are topped with raised roof rails.

Features

You can appreciate the same features in some or all trims throughout these two models, but there are a few differences. Both models have assistive safety features, Car-Net, a digital cockpit, heated seats, a heated steering wheel, and more. The 2021 Volkswagen Atlas also has IQ.DRIVE semi-autonomous features and a Fender premium sound system.

You can get to know the Atlas and the Tiguan more intimately with a test drive and a tour of our showroom. Schedule time to meet with our sales team at Suburban Volkswagen of Troy soon.
