 What's New for the 2023 Volkswagen Taos?

The Taos is at the front of Volkswagen SUV lineup for 2023. While the athletic Taos is a small crossover, it boldly delivers the solid ride and features that today’s drivers want. Going into the 2023 model year, the impressive Taos is available with a few new features. For example, the Taos SEL now has a panoramic sunroof. The IQ.Drive technologies are standard for the SE and higher trims. In addition, blind-spot warning and forward collision mitigation are standard for all 2023 trim levels.

The captivating façade of the 2023 Volkswagen Taos is unchanged. Its beautiful design features a rounded nose with almost flat surfaces through the hood and roof. A long, chrome-accented grille commands the nose. This feature integrates with flanking LED headlights. The lower portion of the nose shows off triangular air intakes, a black bumper, and a metallic skid plate. Upper and lower pinstripes and dark molding add personality to the sides. The Taos may come with exterior equipment like an illuminated grille, adaptive headlights with auto high beams, up to 18-inch wheels, tinted rear windows, heated side mirrors, roof rails, and more.

The Taos is a two-row model that offers plenty of space for passengers and cargo. The base Taos S is thoughtfully appointed with many high-level features. These include a wireless internet connection, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, a blind-spot warning, a digital instrument screen, forward collision warning, a 6.5-inch infotainment system screen, rear cross-traffic sensing, adaptive cruise control, emergency assist, and other items. The higher trims of the Taos may add onto these features with hands-free keyless entry, remote engine start, wireless smartphone charging, wireless connectivity for smartphone apps, a larger display screen, heated front seats, ambient cabin lighting, a navigation system, rear parking sensors, leather material, and a few additional features.

Your time behind the wheel will undoubtedly be enjoyable, thanks to the excellent mechanical features of the Taos. All trims for 2023 benefit from a 158-horsepower, four-cylinder, turbo 1.5-liter engine. They also come with an eight-speed auto transmission with front-wheel drive. Optionally, all-wheel drive is available with a seven-speed, dual-clutch transmission.
